GUIDING YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS

PARENTS

As previous student athletes, we understand the concerns parents may have once your child is abroad.

We will work with your child throughout the whole process. A placement executive will be assigned to each individual so their time in the U.S. is as comfortable as possible. Our Soccer Assist placement team makes annual trips to different states to visit our placed clients to monitor their progress and ensure they have settled in well. We also increase our university contacts and ensure that they fall within our safety standard.

We have established relationships with professional clubs, independent organisations and education providers. These trustworthy relationships work well with our students and provide them with the U.S scholarship route as a progression.

MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE

WHY CHOOSE US?

We come across 1000’s of student-athletes throughout Europe each year. Our track record of placing students into universities on scholarships is why many parents choose us to guide their child through their university career.

WE UNDERSTAND

We understand that as a parent your number one priority is ensuring your child’s university experience, education and soccer are at the highest level. So it is extremely important to choose an agency who can provide the best results.

We have achieved an average of 75% scholarships for our clients with a 100% success rate. In 2017 we saved students over $10 million in tuition fees. Our tailored approach ensures that your child has the most worthwhile experience.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Campus police (University police): These are officers employed by a college or university to protect the campus and surrounding areas and those who live, work and visit it.

Racism: We at Soccer Assist have a zero-tolerance policy, therefore if our student-athletes are abusive or receive abuse, they are able to contact our placement executives and university/college faculty members to report these incidences.

Issues: If your child has issues on campus the university community are able to provide support in such situations. Your child can either speak with a member of the faculty or drop Soccer Assist an email to offer advice.

Soccer Assist staff members ensure to vet any university or college they liaise with, to ensure they meet our health and safety standards. University or college staff are easily accessible to address any concerns your child may have. It is important that students respect the policies of their university.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

ON CAMPUS

Universities and colleges offer accommodation for international students on campus, these are known as dormitories. Dormitories are buildings with multiple rooms for students at the university and college, often 2- 3 people (of the same gender) are assigned to a room. Residents typically share bathrooms. Living on campus is ideal for first-year students, as it is close proximity to necessary facilities. Utilities are included in the rent and each college has a policy for international phone call charges. We encourage students to learn these policies once they arrive.

U.S. colleges and universities offer flexible meal-plans for breakfast lunch and dinner. You can pay in advance for these plans at the cafeteria or designated food establishments on campus at the beginning of the semester. Each items cost will be deducted from your account throughout the semester.

OFF CAMPUS

Some colleges or universities do not provide on-campus accommodation for international students. Off-campus housing office assists students in finding an appropriate place to live. Students will be liable for utilities costs and food (if these are not included in the agreement). The housing coordinators help students to find roommates and they also provide information on the local neighbourhoods.

Prior to committing to a rental agreement, we encourage students to familarise themselves with the area and decide whether they feel it may be a safe and convenient place to live. It is important to understand that the landlord is not responsible for any damage or loss of possessions. Students are encouraged to purchase ‘Renters insurance’ which the accommodation coordinators can provide you information on.
