“I have had the privilege of coaching Holly for the past two seasons. She has been an asset to the team. For the 2023-24 season Holly became part of the U16’s leadership committee. Holly was hand selected for this particular role as she possessed real leadership qualities and expressed a desire to lead on and off the football pitch. Holly is an excellent communicator with both staff and her teammates. Holly can play in a number of positions. In the 2022-23 season, Holly was tasked with playing in a full back position, this was to develop her distribution and defensive responsibilities / understanding further. Although playing left full back was not a favoured position, Holly grasped the challenge with two hands and dominated in this position. Holly is outstanding in a 1v1 defending situation. She is very skilful and can dribble away from pressure with ease when in possession. Holly’s distribution is of real quality, she can play both long and short balls with tremendous accuracy. Holly understands and reads the game very well both defensively and offensively. Holly works incredibly hard to improve her game and has often asked for additional sessions away from her club training sessions. Holly has a deep desire and determination to succeed in football and I have no doubt she will. Holly is also part of the FA’s Talent Pathway and is often being observed during fixtures. Holly has also been a wonderful friend to her teammates the past two years. She has picked her friends up when they have been down, she has been their support system but most of all Holly has been the much needed positive influence on the team and staff. Without any hesitation Holly would be the first name on our team sheet every week. She is a brilliant footballer but more importantly, an inspirational young lady.”
