Leah is a pleasure to coach. She listens, is eager to learn and is always looking to develop her game. She is hard working and committed to being the best she can be. She is a brilliant goalkeeper and an asset to any team.
— Paul Clarke, Goalkeeper Coach,
I have taught Leah for the past year in Sport Studies where she has continued to excel both academically and within her chosen sports, football and badminton. She has been particularly impressive in her main chosen sport of football where Leah has performed extremely well, scoring her13/14 in the practical element of the course. Leah has been observed over several pe and sport studies lessons, including a moderation game and has been monitored in her fixtures and competition results outside of school. When observing Leah’s gameplay in the moderation game, it was evident that she had excellent knowledge and was clearly advanced in the role of a goalkeeper. Leah showed excellent goalkeeping skills and continuously made excellent decisions quickly and often under pressure. A key strength of hers is low diving and shot stopping. In the moderation game, when shots were low and in the corner, she would successfully save them and push them to the side so that another attacker could not have another shot. This was coupled with her excellent positioning within the goal. This excellent positioning allowed Leah to make quick decisions and anticipate shots from her opponents, in turn leading to successful saves and an excellent moderation game. Leah is an extremely confident and competent goalkeeper that clearly is performing at an extremely high level. She continued to prove her ability in one v one scenarios leading to important saves, which she has been seen to make on numerous occasions.  Leah has persistently performed outstandingly on her distribution of the football. This includes her throwing and her passing which frequently gets counterattacks moving quickly. These counter attacks lead to her team getting on the ball and attacking the opposition when they are out of position. Leah’s communication with her defence allows her to launch counter attacks quickly when distributing the ball, as well as organise players into the correct position when defending an attack. In terms of her academic ability, Leah is an extremely hard-working student that continuously strives to do her very best. She is predicted to receive a Level 2 Merit (equal to a level 6), which I am certain that she will accomplish. She worked extremely hard on her coursework and committed hours of her time to perfect this and achieve her target grade. There is no doubt in my mind that she could take her academic writing skills, learned at secondary school, and apply them to college and university. Leah has recently completed her exam for sports studies, which she studied extremely hard for and created some outstanding revision material. I am confident that she has put the same work ethic into all her subjects and expect Leah to leave school with some excellent grades.
