Centre Midfield

A strong Centre Midfielder who constantly works hard to benefit her team. Lily-Anne always thinks about protecting and retaining the ball when in possession, provides quality through passes, holds position, and can strike the ball well from distance. Excellent understanding of other players’ roles on the pitch having started at the age of six as a Goalkeeper, moving on as a defender, and then as a midfielder from the age of eight.

I am writing to recommend Lily-Anne for any future scholarship opportunities in the USA. Lily-Anne has just started her 5th year at Axe Valley Academy and I’ve had the pleasure of being her teacher of Physical Education during this time. At Axe Valley, we challenge all students in knowledge, performance and attitude, with opportunities to develop further in extra-curricular activities. Lily-Anne is undoubtedly one of our highest achieving students in Physical Education and it is a pleasure to have her at the Academy. She promptly arrives to lesson hungry to learn, her curiosity leads to tactical and technical advantage over her peers. She thrives on competition and leads by example both on, and off the field of play. Lily-Anne’s first passion is undoubtedly football, she is committed, knowledgeable, tenacious, and humble. She also has the upmost respect from her peers which has made her an excellent leader both on and off the field of play.

Her desire to improve has given her the opportunity to develop her skillset, knowledge and attitude under the guidance of Exeter City Academy in recent years. Lily-Anne throws herself at every opportunity to improve both in a wide variety of sports teams, and in academic studies. She is predicted the highest possible grade in her sports science (D2*) and is well on track to achieving this grade. I’m sure, if given the opportunity she would relish the challenge of raising the bar in the USA. I could not recommend one student more highly than Lily-Anne, and I wish her every success in the future.
— Mr Gary Hart - Head of Physical Education
I have had the pleasure of teaching Lily French for 4 years now and she has a great work ethic and always strives to complete all tasks set to the best of her ability. She is keen on improving and achieving the best grade she can by attending extra revision classes offered at lunchtime.

She has also been a great sporting role model to students in our school by leading
sporting events in different primary schools in our catchment area. She has completed
her referee football course successfully and represented our school in different cross country events.

Our school has 3 houses, which inspires a great but friendly competition, and she has
represented my House for the past year and half superbly with her athletics prowess. As
part of her role as House Captain, she has been leading assemblies in front of our
students and spoken in front of parents during Year 6 Transition evenings with great
confidence.

Lily-Anne would be a great addition to your college as she will always apply herself fully
in everything she does.
— Mrs Flynn - MFL Subject Leader and ITEC
