“Matthew has been with my team for 3 years. In this time he has shown himself to be reliable, fully committed and enthusiastic, both in training and playing competitive matches. During this time he has been instrumental to the success of the team and is a real team player. Matthew has a good attendance and punctuality record while playing for my team and is always prepared for any session. He clearly understands the importance of training and always ensures he understands any instructions. He shows leadership qualities with team mates in the way he approaches training and matches and his understanding and interpretation means he is able to transfer training ground instructions into match situations. Matthew is blessed with great pace and skill, but doesn’t rely wholly on these skills. He is also intelligent and aware which means he is able to read the game really well and is willing and able to adapt his play to suit different situations. He has played predominantly on the left side as a winger or left fullback to equal success, but I am confident with coaching could play most outfield positions. This season he also showed great composure in front of goal leading to his best tally of goals and assists yet. He has shown in his time playing for my team a personal control and calmness under pressure which helps his performances. He is able to remain positive and shows a highly competitive attitude when required. Matthews communication , interpersonal and team skills are exemplary. He encourages and instructs team mates constantly and is able to influence and support them in training and match situations. This makes him a great asset to any team. In his final season with us, Matthew stood out significantly, not only as top scorer but with most assists and winning both supporters and players player. He fully deserves this recognition and I am sure his drive and determination will lead to many successes in the future.”
