Opoku joined the Syracuse Oranges in 2022 having played a season at NAIA program Lindsey Wilson College.

He was named the Most Outstanding Offensive Player of the National Collegiate Athletic Association last year after scoring 11 goals and providing 8 assists.

The forward was at Manchester City’s Academy before deciding to move to the United States, following in the footsteps of fellow Manchester based Jack Harrison.

Harrison himself is linked with Leicester City following his journey from College to the MLS to the Premier League.

Opoku will be loaned to Belgian side Oud-Heverlee Leuven to continue his development for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.
