We are thrilled to announce that Soccer Assist client Abdirahman Hassan has secured his place and committed to the Hawkeye College to play in the NJCAA. Hailing from Birmingham the former FC Birmingham and Saltley Stallions will be joining Hawkeye College Men’s soccer roster this fall.

Abdirahman tells us that he has been playing soccer from a young age, he had many successful years of youth football, having played for teams around FC Birmingham. Abdirahman tells SA that he moved to Tyseley Stallions where he has been playing since 2016 in the BCS Football League. However, in December 2016 Abdirahman applied to attend a Soccer Assist U.S. scholarship assessment day for a chance to study and play soccer in the U.S.

Ecstatic with his signing, Hawkeye College men’s head coach, Ben Kososkie, tells us ‘after an unsuccessful recruiting trip to Las Vegas, seeing Abdirahman’s profile was perfect! I have found the final piece to the puzzle.’

When describing his playing style Abdirahman states, ‘I’d like to think I emulate Yaya Toure in the way I play. I can be very composed on the ball. I like to make things happen in the midfield by moving the ball quickly and slowing down the game when I need too. I am not afraid to go in for a tackle to break down opposition attacks and set of my team on a counter.’Soccer Assist Director, Junior states ‘Abdi brings a lot of energy to the middle of the park. Can put in a challenge and also create goal scoring opportunities’. The 22-year old is a box to box midfielder who displays great composure and confidence in every performance. Abdirahman has all of the qualities needed to make an instant impact in the NJCAA in the fall.
